(CNN) — Two people were killed and five others were wounded in a shooting in Washington, DC, early Sunday morning, police said.
The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. near the intersection of 7th and P Street Northwest, near the Kennedy Recreation Center, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The MPD identified the two who were killed as 32-year-old Anthony Brown of Washington, DC, and 32-year-old Jay Lucks of Baltimore.
The injured victims, all of whom were described as being adults, have been taken to local hospitals, Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll said in a media briefing. No information was available on their conditions.
They should make DC a gun-free zone. That will fix everything!
I work in and around DC. It’s always been nuts, but anymore it’s like the Wild West. Anything goes, at any time, with no consequences at all. I literally pray every day for traveling mercies, get in and do my job, and get out before dark.
