Liberals raised the minimum wage to $15.00, now they wants to go after tips, they’re shoving EV’s down our throats and Electric Companies have not only skyrocketed their rates, they’re/we’re not taxed on electricity anywhere near what we pay at the gas pumps, (road tax) so now they want to raise the sales tax in the state to make up for the future losses. Have you wondered why the local media hasn’t covered WHY?
With Delaware so close to us at the Shore, I’m sure many of us will start making weekly trips out of state to buy just about anything and everything. I spoke with a very affluent person last night who added that the Governor also wants to raise the liquor tax and if they could relocate to Delaware they would.
I have been watching the housing boom in Delaware as I drive all over the state and while Delaware is way behind infrastructure wise for such massive growth, people are moving there anyway. It kind of reminds me of the Baltimore and Washington Beltway traffic, it’s that bad and gets a thousand times worse in the summer.
So what’s YOUR thoughts on raising the sales tax in Maryland?

Typical liberal, solve every problem by raising taxes and spending more money. People should be outraged at even the suggestion of raising our taxes. Elect democrats and this is the kind of stuff you end up with.
To DemonCrats it sounds logical….but us conservatives know that this will cause people to move out of MD and to shop out of MD. So then the sales are lower in MD, then less sales tax will be collected. I swear the DemonCrats are the dumbest of the dumb. This kind of thinking leaves behind the people that don’t pay taxes and are sucking at the teat of the Government.

All Americans consume far too much. Fast food, electronic toys, fancy new cars, houses that are too big, keeping up with the Jones’s. I support sales taxes, and support raising them. Consumption of things, everything, is the poison that is destroying our culture and country. Tax it higher so people learn to appreciate the simple things: basic food, clothing, shelter. There’s no tax on love or friendship or helping others.

Reality is a construct that your taxes pay for just like your tithing at the church pays the mortgage keeps the heat on and pays the pastor……why that is a paying JOB I don’t get but whatever. If you hate everything so much and paying taxes have at it. Move to Alaska go off-grid hunt, fish, farm, shovel snow, chop wood, thaw frozen pipes.
