The Republican chairmen of two of the House committees investigating Hunter Biden said Friday that the contempt of Congress resolution will proceed against the first son despite his about-face on sitting for a deposition.
Further, Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky., and Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, released a joint statement Friday warning Hunter Biden against “additional stunts or delay.”
Their statement came after attorney Abbe Lowell said earlier Friday that Hunter Biden will appear for a closed-door deposition after the panels “issue a new proper subpoena.” It’s Lowell’s contention that the previous subpoenas were “legally invalid,” rendering the contempt resolution “impermissible.”
