Biden Administration Faces Scrutiny Over $3 Billion Solar Loan Amid Allegations of Elderly Scam

The Biden Administration’s Department of Energy (DOE) has come under intense scrutiny after awarding a substantial $3 billion loan to solar company Sunnova Energy, which has been accused of employing deceptive practices, including scamming elderly customers.

The controversial loan has sparked investigations and raised questions about the Department’s vetting process as reported by AG News on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Sunnova Energy is facing allegations of exploiting elderly and dementia-afflicted customers by pressuring them to sign significant, long-term solar panel leases on their deathbeds.

The Washington Free Beacon reported instances where door-to-door salesmen convinced vulnerable individuals to commit to multi-decade contracts, leaving grieving family members burdened with substantial financial obligations.

The complaints include scams, predatory sales tactics, and maintenance delays.
