If you watched tonight’s 6 o’clock broadcast you were mislead. I watched the county council meeting last night and I was very upset when I saw that WBOC did everything they could to make that council meeting appear one sided, it was not.
Most of the people who voiced their opinions were very professional, courteous and perfectly on target, including current and former NAACP representatives. It’s a shame that WBOC did everything they could to create the SHOCK FACTOR rather than actually being “fair and balanced” news.
No education is necessary any longer with mainstream media outlets these days. Funny how now THEY have become hacks within all liberal media outlets any more. Nevertheless, what you saw from your local news station was a load of crap.
If you want real answer please contact your County Executive and County Council Representatives and remember, 6 out of 7 council members voted to override the Veto. Something very important and something WBOC refused to mention.
I did not see the WBOC footage but I did watch it on PAC 14 live. I am 100% supportive of our County Council. I’ve lost so much respect for our Lord and Savior, the wannabe county executive. I have so much respect for Shanie Shields. She is one of the smartest ones on the council.
The two occupied positions were filled without Council approval. Julie didn’t follow the same process that was required and worked for 30 previous appointments/hires. I wonder how the council voted for those successful hires – that set of statistics would show a level of cooperation with the executive.
Since this is a procedural issue, either 4 republicans sided with the two democrats (unlikely) or everyone (except Winn) wants the procedure followed.
The one-sided reporting is consistent with the media bias we have seen for quite a while.

Here is a email to the County Council President, Vice President and Council Administrator from Dan McHugh. A guy that helped Julie on her campaign and had been by county tax dollars. He lives in Sussex County Delaware and pays absolutely no taxes in Wicomico County or the State of Maryland. This must make the entire council just shutter in their pants. I bet the county tax payers are willing to jump on board with this dude. NOT!! All this clown is doing is sending emails, IM’s, text messages, etc. to people on Julie’s harvested contact list in hopes they will send messages to the council members as well. If the small amount of people that follow Julie. As a county resident and county tax payer I disagree with this and encourage the real taxpayers and voters to support the county council. Just because Dan McHugh and Julie say the two people in question “are qualified” and they have “the credentials.” The are not qualified and they do NOT have the credentials NOR do they have the experience to be in the said positions. I agree with some of her followers. Yes it is time to move on but not the council. It is time for Julie to move on and find 2 people who are qualified. Julie is costing the tax payers way to much to take the council to court.
Speaking of the two qualified people. Check the Judiciary Case Search for them and you will see a lot of legal baggage that at least one of them has. Not only that, they have never been in leadership or supervisory positions on the county level. Do a nationwide search and find qualified people to make Wicomico County the best county on the Eastern Shore, Julie the School Teacher.

Dear Council President Cannon & Council Vice President Baker,
Both of you and four of your members have passed legislation to defund three positions in the Wicomico County Government.
1. The Director of Public Works.
2. The Deputy Director of Public Works
3. The Assistant Director of Administration
Two of these positions currently have someone in the position. Who are qualified for the positions according to the legal opinion of the County Attorney Mr. Paul Wilber. The County Executive and her Administration followed Mr. Wilber’s guidance on filling both of these positions.
Council President Cannon, and the Council’s attorney Mr. Andy Mitchell on the other hand have the opinion that 1.The County Executive is in violation of the charter & 2. You both feel these two individuals are not qualified to be in these positions . Which is why you passed legislation to temporarily “defund” the positions.
In the two differing opinions Mr. Wilber has written an opinion that the County Executive and her Administration’s actions were correct, while Mr. Mitchell has failed to provide a legal and written opinion for the Council’s accusations and actions against the County Executive and her Administration.
After the legislation was passed to “defund” these three positions The County Executive responded by vetoing this legislation. The Council meeting today the County Council will vote to override the County Executive’s veto, the Council needs a 6 -1 vote to override the veto.
I ask you both Council President Cannon and Council Vice President Baker to vote to not override the County Executive’s veto. This legislation is reckless and irresponsible. The Public Works Director is a vital position for the betterment and the future of Wicomico County’s local economy and should not be defunded. In addition the County Executive & her Administration have shown the proven credentials of the two individuals in the other two positions and why they are qualified to work in these positions.
Council President Cannon I ask you to get back to working with the County Executive for the betterment of Wicomico County’s communities and citizens, and these actions by you and the other members of the Council are not that.
