Today I vetoed the inappropriate and flawed legislation proposed and passed by our County Council. As your County Executive, we follow the charter and listen to our constituents. Thank you to the community for your support through this.

This lady has been a breath of fresh air for county employees with decent pay adjustments and department and employee monthly awards. She has been by far the best Executive for the employees since its implementation.

And, you can thank the Wicomico County Council for their unanimous vote that approved “decent pay and department and employee monthly awards” because without the approval by the County Council, this would not have happened. FACT

James Winn is showing how he would follow her over the cliff. The charter is pretty clear. The one that violated the charter is Giordano. What qualifications did either of the two have that made them the perfect fit for those positions? Think for yourselves. If you ran a business of 2000 employees, would you hire a person that did not qualify for the jobs? Knowing that they would be in top positions running your business? To run a successful business you need the best to be in those positions. The qualified persons need to be ready and able to step into those positions. IMO Giordano is not looking out for the people of this county, if she were she would have already gotten better qualified people. Hey James, I need a job.. no I don’t know anything about tile, but can I have the job anyway?
These individuals have been working in these positions. So it is seamless and you clearly haven’t noticed.

Like a previous poster said, “Reminds me of Nancy Pelosi ripping up President Trump’s State of the Union speech”. Now, let’s READ ARTICLE IV: The Executive Branch, Section 411(d) Executive Veto,
“Veto. Upon veto the County Executive shall provide, in writing, a statement of the reasons for the veto. The veto message shall be entered in the journal of the County Council, and not later than at its next legislative session day, the County Council may reconsider the bill. If, upon reconsideration, at least five members of the County Council vote in the affirmative, the bill shall become law.”
Whatever Madam Executive is gleefully showing off with RED X’s drawn across will go back to the County Council for reconsideration. If the County Council chooses to veto again upon this legislation all that is needed are “five members of the County Council vote in the affirmative”, Madam Executive loses, again.

She sure does like to be in front of a camera. She is proving to be an embarrassment to this county more every day. Poor Mr. Luffman looks tired, stressed and didn’t want to be part of that exclusive. He looked pained! But then she also has the power to fire him if he doesn’t do as she says. This needs to be amended in the charter. Instead of employees falling to her mercy, it needs to fall also under the Council just as the hiring does.
