It sounds like the Democrats are getting desperate now when it comes to former president Donald Trump.
Not only does he continue to hold a massive lead in the Republican primary, but some recent polls show him tying or beating Joe Biden. I wrote about the Harvard/Harris poll that had Trump up by five points and there was NY Times/Sienna poll that has them tied. The RealClear Politics average as of Wednesday, Aug. 2, is Biden, by the slimmest of margins, at +0.9, and given how the polls seem to always be skewed toward Democrats, that’s looking like a win to me there.
That has to make the Democrats nervous. They thought they could put hide Joe Biden in the basement and Trump would be buried under lawfare at this point. But it’s not working out exactly as they thought. Every indictment or legal move they pull out of their hat, his numbers seem to go up.
Now there’s word that they’re trying to bring in their big gun, Barack Obama, to try to help Joe Biden.
A new Washington Post report reveals that Obama met with Biden earlier this summer to talk about Trump’s strengths including “an intensely loyal following, a Trump-friendly conservative media ecosystem and a polarized country — underlining his worry that Trump could be a more formidable candidate than many Democrats realize.”
At the lunch, held in late June at the White House residence, Obama promised to do all he could to help the president get reelected, according to two people familiar with the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversation.
That commitment was a welcome gesture for the White House at a time when Biden is eager to lock down promises of help from top Democrats, among whom Obama is easily the biggest star, for what is likely to be a hard-fought reelection race. The contents of the private conversation have not been previously reported.
There is no saving biden now, the cat is out of the bag.

Obama met with Biden because he wants to get his story straight so both can deny they are traitors . The truth is starting to leak out and he is worried. Obama is the most corrupt bastard to ever inhabit the White House ! He started the destruction of this country and its valued institutions by infecting it with communists and incompetent diversity while the inept media ran cover for him and his corrupt AG had his back ! President Trump lost a billion dollars during his term but yet the corrupt obama comes out 200 million richer ! I fear not even President Trump can save this nation but I feel we owe him the chance since his first term was essentially neutralized by the corrupt deep state put in place by the corrupt obama admin.
Obama is a Chicago corrupt machine political product. The notion Biden was collecting from Ukraine and other countries without Obama benefitting in some fashion from Ukraine or other arrangements elsewhere is just naive. Was his deceased cook doing something more complicated than making salads and sandwiches?
