The BIG Cover Up

We hear about crime elsewhere but Ocean City Maryland is covering up crime like we’ve never seen before.

When it comes to night time, (if you lived here) you’d notice just how dead the downtown area is. The majority of business has moved to north Ocean City and even into Delaware. Downtown is now a ghetto loaded with thugs and crime.

So why aren’t we seeing this as a fact in our local media outlets? Because they are becoming a part of the nation wide cover up. Do they actually believe they are protecting us?

Locals are being told not to go out after 9 pm in the downtown boardwalk area. So the question is, do you think it’s fair that they cover up all this crime and mislead the public? By the way, trust me, it’s really bad. You just don’t know it unless you go out after 9 pm in OC.

  1. I live in West O and we refuse to take the grandkids to the boardwalk.
We do take them to the uptown beaches away from the riff raft and frontier town.

  2. Thanks for posting this, but it’s old news. Downtown has been sketchy at night for years, but in 2020 it exploded into “Inner Harbor” ghetto theatrics. It’s not much better now. The Mayor took a lot of heat on this site and on one brave radio program, and the police made a stronger presence in 2021 which did help, but it is a dirty rotten shame. Meanwhile, the city still insists on heavy advertising in urban (ghetto) areas. The Mayor, the city council, and the apathetic voters seem quite content with the current and recent state of affairs because absolutely none of them ever dares to venture downtown, especially on the boardwalk, after dark.

    1. Down Town OC worker

On August 1, 2023 dozens of bus loads of Baltimore Thugs are coming to downtown OC.; PAID FOR BY::
      BLM GOVERNOR WES MOORE

Store owners informed this writer of that , and they are worried

      1. Day trippers on a monday. As long as they infest the downtown area, non issue. Plus I’m on the bay mostly – where the element doesn’t “hang” or cant since they don’t have boats.

Rickie and Co – can’t keep brushing trouble under the rug.

And stop advertising in the ghetto!

  3. I have been living on the eastern shore for over 40 years, and OC has become just like church street in salisbury
it is a section 8 crime ridden ghetto. and the new maryland laws that less moore created let them get away with anything. until these savages are made to do the time for their crime . then it is only going to get worse.

  4. I have lived in the West O/Berlin area for years and I would NEVER take my kids or grands anywhere near the boardwalk day or night. The whole area has been nothing but a tattoo/piercing/vaping/swearing sleaze venue. There is nothing family about that area. Like many locals, we head up to the northern beaches (above 90th street). Up there you have pretty much all families, and while there may be the occasional problem, it is rare. Something else I noticed is that if you get on one of the Ocean City cams to look around after 9, they almost always seem to go down at several points at night. There is just no way it is a technical glitch. The town is covering stuff up trying to promote itself as family friendly when it is just a thug fest. Talk to any local cop, and they will ALL tell you to stay out of there.

  5. Free hand outs to make you not work is the root cause of this shit. Cops should be able to do their job, but the democrats running these cities and states have ruined them. It’s a shame Ocean City is not family oriented anymore like it used to be.

  6. This proves what the OCPOLITIANS lie more every year by pushing the LIE that OC is a FAMILY RESORT. WHAT A LIE. Now I have a question. WHY IS MD DOT IS ATTEMPTING TO EXPAND THE RT () AND THE RT 90 BRIDGE. FROM where you get on 90 to OC is nothing but a race tract for speeders and aggressive drivers that is costing MD TAX PAYERS millions. WHO IN GOVERNMENT IS GETTING THE MILLIONS IN KICKBACKS?

    1. Yeah, there was an awful Route 90 crash (heading west on the 1st span) yesterday afternoon.

Just need to take one’s time, coming into or leaving town. And extra couple seconds rather than tailgating may save your life.

      or not.

  7. Stay the heck out of that hell hole. Everything is ridiculously overpriced. It’s all a sleeze joint and a bunch of money grubbers. The filth and lewd goings on there are not for family entertainment. Go somewhere nice that is family oriented.m Not OC!!

    1. Folks have left and headed south or to an island retreat (for the same price). Even June bug season this year was very tame.

Price drives the element – but also shoos away the family consumer.

  8. Why blame everyone but the citizens who vote for this? You get the leaders you deserve! Enjoy living in the sewer you created!

    1. Ah – Must be new to OC.

Problem isnt who is voted in, its the lack of candidates outside of the group.

Or the capability for true property owners who cannot vote.

21st century, owners who choose not to live in OC full time, but own – should be able to vote.

If only 7,700 registered voter continue to vote (less than 23% will), NOTHING will ever change.

  9. Back to the original question – the 2 local newspapers are only good for easy crosswords and crab cracking and they get worse every day.

  10. All towns with a population do it. I rode thru OC, to Rehoboth yesterday. Saw only happy people. Families going to the beach.

    1. 7:52, you are clearly not qualified to comment about whether or not someplace is family friendly. You gave yourself away by saying you were going to Rehoboth, which means you’re probably LGBTQetc, NOT family oriented.

  11. Day tripper Lil Mexico Hammock town under the pier on Saturdays/Sundays?

Been like that for years and continues to grow.
