  1. Seriously? They have rainbow paint for their sidewalks but cant keep centrally located recycling center open? Guess all that money was pissed away on bike lanes. God, I hate this stupid city so much.

    1. The painted sidewalks belong to the city. The recycling centers belong to the county.

The bike lanes are paid for by state and federal grants, their completion tied to something like $15,000,000 in additional money available for curbs, sidewalks, intersection improvement, etc. No bike lanes, no $15,000,000.

    2. It was the MILLIONS WASTED on the folked fesitval.

If anyone in our government had a brain they would have taken those MILLIONS and partnered with Levitt Foundation and had a permanent structure built, instead of that useless joke of what your government calls an amphitheater.

Bethlehem PA has a recycling program, permanent facility and actual staff on payroll, that helps you with your recycling and keeps the property clean of garbage and non recyclables. Upfront control is less costly than cleaning up ghetto trash.

This place is a joke and your government a clown show. But thats what happens when the born heres never; venture outside of the state, experience life, take advice of others, or research what other communities are doing, outside of google.

      1. What do you mean by “ghetto trash?”

(Bethlehem: White: 72.71% Black or African American: 9.2%.
Salisbury: White : 48.8% Black or African America 39.5%)

      2. Has nothing to to with born heres 7:37, lots of government positions are occupied by COME HERES. Could it possibly be them making these negative decisions?

  2. ??? I thought we were supposed to recycle MORE, not less. Now we will see more trash just dumped on the go and in remote areas. This is not progress.

    1. For recycling to be at all effective, there has to be a ready market for the glass, metals and various plastics. The recyclables industry has been tanking for years, leaving recycling communities with few options to try to break even as the market bottoms out.

As it is, more recyclables go to the top of Mt. Wicomico for burying than you want to know.

  3. Why? Location at Civic Center was easy to access, centrally located, conducive to putting a recycling run of stuff in to accompany an errand run. Civic Center has spare lot across the street available if there is some credible reason for abandoning the site.

Thought government was supposed to serve the public; this is a backward move and will result in more items getting trashed and landing in the landfill. Would like to have County Exec share with us on this move.

    1. Plenty of county residents rely on that location as well…its the only central location in the whole damn county….why should I drive 15 minutes to Allen when I have a county resource in the center of it all…another failure from queen julie…

      1. LOL best look to your city government for this debacle.
Queen Julie saved you money, as this expense is and should be on the city
They already have a recycling program in the city limits so they should be taking care of ALL the recycling in the city limits.

  4. Can someone please cut the grass and weeds at the Willards recycle center. The location is quite a eyesore.

  5. This would be only a nuisance – if the other containers were not overflowing!
Driving farther to find full bins wastes my time, money, and defeats the purpose of recycling.

    Dumb move!

  6. Isn’t there a recycling station near SU? If so, no need for two to be maintained when they’re so close to each other.

  7. This is what you get with liberal progressive politians that is for themselves and not for the public. I will no longer recycle now since I will have to use more gas to travel farther to recycle. I have better usage for my gas being on SSI. I will throw every thing in regular trash. This is what you get with politians that gets voting in because of their worthless ideas and good ole boys. This proves they have very little knowledge of the job and no leadership qualities. Also they have no problem solving assets to solve problems with reasonable solutions instead of decisions that will cost the COUNTY in the long run. RICK PIOLLITT found out with the DIESEL / Tire fiasco. This COUNTY does not want reasonable solutions or someone who is not in their circle who would make them look bad. I have volunteered and heard nothing. ALBERO can get up with me if they want someone to begin straight this mess up.

    1. Well maybe if the CITY RESIDENT SLOBS that were regularly using the RECYCLING bins as TRASH bins for household garbage and or mattresses and couch dump stations this wouldn’t’ve been the case. Your kitty litter bins were removed because the local slobs next to the Civic Center refused to act responsibly and quite frankly you babies complaining are just complainers. You are not recyclers because IF you cared you’d understand and travel a mile or two to the next recycling drop off. As for the other commenter who claims the city is in the county, the city has their own curb side recycling, Idiot.

  8. Can’t believe the morons who post and don’t understand who runs the County’s recycling stations It’s not the City!
I can’t speak for all recycling stations but the one by civic center was trashed by lazy, common, scumbags for a long time. The county wasn’t to blame and just couldn’t keep up. not enough time/money to fix what these dirt bags have done!

  9. FYI, at least 2 employees quit last week because of Julie’s antics for better paying jobs in Talbot….this probably has something to do with it…..this county is going to hell under her watch….mass shootings, labor shortage, shady deals with dan cox and the FOP, etc…..

    1. 12;42 couldn’t have anything to do with Salisbury being 2nd worst city for crime in Maryland could it?? I guess that’s Julie’s fault too? Damn you people have no critical thinking skills?

  10. This is not fair to remove this sight to the public we who live in the President’s Neighborhood area and the city this was the closest sight for us. With so many immigrants already in this area the trash will wind up in the yards, gutters, trees & bushes thanks for making this area even more of an eyesore than it already is. This is more left over Jake Day shit by his puppet Jack Heath. Thanks a lot Salisbury the little Baltimore, DC will now be WORSE!!!!
