SALISBURY, Md. —
The 21-year-old man convicted of killing Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputy Glenn Hilliard was sentenced Thursday to life in prison plus 66 years.
A jury convicted Austin Davidson of shooting and killing Deputy Hilliard on June 12, 2022, as Hilliard was attempting to arrest Davidson on multiple warrants.
During sentencing, Davidson’s attorney asked for life in prison with the possibility of parole. She explained Davidson faced significant trauma and loss as a child and asked he be given the chance to make something of his life in the future.
Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge James Sarbanes ruled that the sentence comes without the possibility of parole.
Davidson listened to Hilliard’s family talk about their grief. Hilliard’s widow, Tashica Hilliard, said in court: “I wish I could feel sorry for you because your childhood was rough, and you were in foster care.”
She went on to explain that her husband also grew up in foster care, saying: “Glenn made his choice to be a part of the solution, not a problem.”
“Glenn chose to give his life to save yours. I and no one else should feel sorry for you,” Tashica Hilliard said. “When you killed my husband, you also killed a part of me … You took my other half. I may be broken, but I won’t be destroyed.”

This proves the elimination of the DEATH PENALTY gives the criminal a reprieve. This is a perfect example of why the DEATH PENALTY should be reinstated in MARYLAND with a 2 year deadline for the execution. These DEMOCRAT LIBERAL POLITIANS will never reinstate this penalty because this would take away their VOTER BASE

The worst part of this article was that he was bragging about killing a police officer and had threatened to do the same to a corrections officer.
Not only should this piece of shit face the death penalty…personally I feel he should be tortured to the point his last breath should be an honest fight that he will lose. With that being said we all need to get real with ourselves. Not only is the state of maryland a corrupt vile piece of excrement but so is the country as a whole. Somehow we’ve gotten to the point that this is acceptable, well at least to those in power, with wealth and money, and part of the “good ole boy” system. I’m a decorated combat veteran of this country. It becomes more and more difficult to be proud of this as the country I love(d) and fought for is the same country that clearly at a national level lets a presidential election be rigged, demented people with complete and total illness be forced to have their spot in the limelight, drugs allowed in the whitehouse, KAMALA..etc. etc. It’s unbelievable that we still have a “country”
