Governor Moore’s Statement on the Mass Shooting in Baltimore

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Governor Wes Moore released the following statement on the mass shooting that took place in Baltimore:

“Last night, we saw yet another mass shooting strike our community where a celebratory gathering turned deadly. My heart breaks for these victims, their families, and the Baltimore community that is coping with the loss.

Maryland has had enough of watching gun violence continue to ravage our state and our nation. The fact that these horrific shootings continue to take place is abominable. We as a state will continue to do everything we can to prevent senseless acts of violence like the one we saw last night.

We are grateful for the actions of the first responders who jumped quickly into action and are confident that our law enforcement officials will swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice. My administration is in close touch with local officials and will provide whatever resources are needed to assist.

To the loved ones of these Marylanders, I am so sorry for your loss. You deserve better and we will work together to bring you just that. You have my word.”

  1. If he was any type of GOVERNOR he would prosecute these criminals in FEDERAL COURT along with STATE charges and send them to PRISON for life. But he is a typical DEMON DEMOCRAT and push GUN CONTROL on LAW ABIDING CITIZENS and attempt to banish GUNS in MARYLAND. He should be among the other STATES and allow LAW ABIDING CITIZENS legally carry without expensive permits and senseless training. By not prosecuting these criminals he is just as liable as the shooter that has illegal possession of this weapons.

    1. 3:26 the Governor of a state can’t prosecute someone federally. State and federal are two separate things. At the federal level, the U.S. Department of Justice are the prosecutors of federal crimes. At the state level, in Maryland, the county State’s Attorneys prosecute state crimes. And the Governor is not in charge of either one of them.

  2. word salad from another waste of a so called human being. maybe arresting charging jailing and even bringing back the death penalty might have saved these lives! but hey lets all ignore the elephant in the room and just keep whistling past the graveyard! ur guv deMoron!

  3. Just ask your wing man Jake Day he knows all about crime even in Salisbury Md it is something he never addressed. Actually he never addressed anything but his wife selling drugs on school property, that is one of the 3 or is it 4 wives he has had. He only believed in gay rights pride sidewalks, gay bars and more bars, pan handlers everywhere, a river he had the fence removed so more floaters appear in, failed Salisbury Festivals making no money just lots of alcholol floating, oh and ask him about his favorite spot the Brick Room. A expensive fire boat not to be used just parked. His gay parades, a city that has deteriorated over his term in dire neglect, most every business we had left or died. No goal to lure businesses here . We are fast approaching being a ghost town. Slum lords make up most of our rental properties. Our police dept has declined, number 1&2 crime is at it’s highest. Their is no city inspectors the few we have write up nothing. The city is nothing but run down, decaying properties littered with no tag vehicles, trash on porches, front yards, back yards, weeds 3’ tall, houses barely standing snd boarded up. Look out all is coming with his help to your area too! good luck!

  4. I lived 2 blocks from where this happened. It’s a ghetto beef war and the projects where it happened are notorious for this crap. I Guarantee that a bunch of people no exactly who did it but they aren’t talking. I love how the media blows this up as a “mass” shooting. As if someone randomly targeted them.

  5. didn’t this so called gov. pass a law that says no one 25 or under can be charged with murder? WTF? any one at any age should be charged if they kill some one on purpose. our state allows criminals to act without any repercussions, of course crime is going to soar more and more. criminals have any and many guns they want so should law abiding citizens
