DEAR HOME DEPOT AND ALL OTHER STORES THAT HAVE SELF CHECKOUT!

You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now.
Yesterday I was at Walmart and the lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone.
I didn’t choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already filled my cart, emptied my cart and scanned the items, refilled my cart and so I just skipped the exit line and left.
I heard her saying “umm – Excuse me “ as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store.
You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be.
• I’m not interested in proving that I did your job for you.
• If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that’s your problem not mine.
• Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities.
YOU DON’T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING.
YOU DON’T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU.

    1. ALL self checkout stores BY LAW should have to give you 20% off your purchases for doing
      THEIR WORK !!!! PERIOD

That would STOP the Bullshhht !!!!

  1. It seems reasonable to expect a dollar discount at least equal to the dollar amount of pay and benefits of a paid employee for five minutes’ work. That will get a self checkout shopper the handsome sum of about $1.65.

    1. a full cart takes more than five minutes to check out, and that doesn’t include standing in line for 15 waiting for an open register

utter bullshit that I should have to wait that long to do their job., that I am not getting paid to do

I am also a “waive and keep walking” customer, refusing to have someone check my “unpaid work”

Unless you are accusing me of shoplifting, you can’t stop me. And if you are, you need to be 100% sure of yourself.

      Bunch of sheep complying.

  2. There are “up close” camera’s on each register, so they already know whether you have shoplifted or not
There are 2 to 3 employees just standing around in the corral watching everyone check out

Asinine that they are putting an untrained employee at risk having to confront every single shopper exiting, the store

This is truly a death or lawsuit in the making. tick tock.

    1. Staff standing around while ‘on the clock’ watching me do the work is the most aggravating part of this process. Not pleased.
