nder the new crop of George Soros-backed, soft-on-crime district attorneys, there is no consequence for breaking the law.
Criminals are getting the message loud and clear.
In Chicago, two teens steal a car, speed down a road and kill a baby.
That’s not enough to lock them up.
In Alameda, the DA is going soft on gang members who fired indiscriminately and also killed a child.
In San Francisco, the former fire commissioner was distressed to find a group of transients using drugs on his mother’s doorstep.
He sprayed them with pepper spray.
One of the men then beat him with a metal pipe.
The DA originally dropped the charges against the pipe-wielder, saying the man was acting in self-defense.
Apparently self-defense now encompasses walking away, picking the perfect weapon, taking practice swings — all things he did — and then using disproportionate force against the man who didn’t want you bothering his mother.
Only after an outcry did the DA reinstate the charges.
Progressives will tell us with a straight face that crime isn’t increasing, and if it is, it has nothing to do with this new breed of no-bail, no-jail prosecutors.
