Biden asks scandal-ridden Hunter to ‘stand up’ in Ireland because he’s ‘proud’ of him

President Biden asked his son Hunter Wednesday to stand and be recognized at an Ireland event billed as an ancestral homecoming for the first family — before telling his scandal-ridden son he was proud of him.

“I’m here with my sister Valerie and my younger son, Hunter Biden. Stand up guys, I’m proud of you,” the 80-year-old president said in Dundalk, near the border with Northern Ireland.

Biden also joked to distant relatives in attendance for his remarks that he might damage their reputations with his visit — though he didn’t specify why.

Hunter, 53, was by his father’s side throughout the day Wednesday — after spending Easter weekend at Camp David and hanging out at the White House Monday ahead of the trip.

Hours earlier, the first son served as presidential umbrella-holder as his dad spoke with Irish prime minister Leo Varadkar on the tarmac in Dublin, then stood by Biden’s side while he took questions from kids.
