A controversial bill was introduced to the House of Delegates and passed in the House on March 18, 2023. HB 283, also known as the Maryland Medical Assistance Program – Gender-Affirming Treatment (Trans Health Equity Act), aimed to provide access to taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery, hormone therapy, and puberty blockers to individuals under 18. The bill sparked heated debate, with many arguing that such treatments should only be available to adults.
There were specifically two representatives of the Eastern Shore that chose to remain silent on the topic. Those two are Delegate Carl Anderton (R) and Delegate Sheree Sample-Hughes (D). Because they knew that the majority of House Democrats supported the bill, they thought that their silence during a roll-call vote would keep them off the radar and neutral on the subject.
Thier silence is consent for taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery (genital mutilation), hormone therapy, and puberty blockers for not only adults, but for minor children.
What in the world are they thinking? No way should a child be able to make a decision like this, let alone a parent agreeing to such an outrageous procedure. This bill should have never been brought up for a vote.
We have known that they are both part of the scum of the bottom of the pond!
How and why we keep re electing these two is beyond comprehension!

The same idiots in Annapolis say we can’t charge a 25yr old with murder because their brain isn’t fully developed…but we’re going to allow children to decide if they’re a boy or a girl? Can these people please come debate us normal folk, and answer to questions that aren’t pre-determined? That is NOT a pic of the final vote…surprisingly Sample-Hughes did NOT vote with her bleeding heart liberals and Anderton sure did NOT vote for this bullshit. They BOTH voted AGAINST this. The shit stirrer that sent this jumped the gun with a pic before ALL votes, less the 5 that actually were ABSENT, were in.
