Sen. John Fetterman checks himself into hospital for clinical depression treatment

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) is back in a DC-area hospital, this time to get treatment for clinical depression, his office announced Thursday.

” While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks,” Fetterman chief of staff Adam Jentleson wrote on Twitter, adding that Capitol attending physician Brian Monahan examined Fetterman on Monday and “recommended inpatient care” on Wednesday.

“After examining John, the doctors at Walter Reed [National Military Medical Center] told us that John is getting the care he needs, and will soon be back to himself,” Jentleson concluded.

Fetterman’s wife, Gisele, posted a separate tweet stating: “After what he’s been through in the past year, there’s probably no one who wanted to talk about his own health less than John. I’m so proud of him for asking for help and getting the care he needs.”

Fetterman, 53, was taken to George Washington University Hospital on Feb. 8 after feeling lightheaded during a Democratic Party retreat. He was released two days later and was back in the Senate on Monday.

  1. Depression is a hallmark aftereffect symptom in stroke victims. It can be disabling in severity and last for years. There is no one-size-fits-all therapy. Serious consideration should be given to immediate retirement from his job to concentrate on his recovery and wellness.

  2. With the cognative skills he showed in the campaign he never should have been elected. Again the question comes up that cognative skills should be front and center before being elected this guy could have stayed home he has zero personality and was a jerk during the campaign and Biden should have gotten the test and we wouldn’t be where we are today with a walking puppet for the left he has anger issues and can’t get off the podium without direction and help not to mention his cheat cards and teleprompter for direction.

  3. I followed the PA Senate campaign with interest; before and after his stroke I don’t recall any mention of Fetterman’s depressive issues. Now, voila! this is a reoccurrence of a past problem.

Also, on another site, a commenter said his wife was a psychiatrist and she said inpatient for clinical depression was usually reserved for those thinking about hurting themselves. I’m repeating what I read only.

He’s a leftist lout but we still wish him a recovery.

  4. HE is making laws for the rest of us???
    SERIOUSLY????????????????????
    Democrats.

HE is the best they could offer.

He can’t hear, understand words without help and now feels really really bad?

HE is MAKING LAWS for us and still has cheerleaders saying he’s perfectly fine to serve “We, the People”?????

  5. He needs to get medical attention and remove himself from office he never should have won he had no qualifications for, but healthwise I wish him well.
