Man trying to fill up his car at gas station ends up pumping alleged armed robber full of lead

An armed robbery was reportedly foiled Saturday night at a Phoenix gas station by a man keen to fill his tank, not empty his wallet.

The head clerk of the Sinclair gas station at 12th Street and Highland Avenue told KTVK that the man targeted in the foiled robbery is a regular customer, known to be polite and kind: “He don’t bother nobody. He come to the pump, fills gas, drives off. That’s it.”

This regular customer, who has not been named, was allegedly confronted at the pump around 6:30 p.m. by 24-year-old Aaron Duwan Frazier Jr., reported CBS 5.

According to police, Frazier attempted to rob the man at gunpoint. The gas was unleaded, but the customer’s response to the criminal threat was not. The would-be victim reportedly went to the back of his vehicle, armed himself, then fired several shots, striking Frazier.

“I heard three gunshots and then … he went on the floor,” said the head clerk. “I went to the door and saw that happening and I called 911.”
