Stamp prices increasing this weekend: How much will Forever stamps cost?

It’s going to cost more to send a letter starting Sunday.

To cope with the rising cost of operations, the United States Postal Service is set to increase the cost of postage effective Jan. 22. Prices are going up about 4.2%, with first-class Forever stamp prices increasing by 3 cents from 60 cents to 63 cents.

It marks the post office’s third price hike in about a year. Stamp prices rose from 58 cents to 60 cents in July 2022.

The U.S. Postal Service is also raising other rates including international mail and metered letters as well as fees for post office boxes, money orders and other special services.

The price of Priority Mail is rising by about 5.5% and Priority Mail Express by 6.6%. The USPS is also raising First-Class Package Service prices by 7.8% and Priority Mail commercial rates will bump up about 3.6%

  1. Pretty soon – a regular stamp will cost about the same as an equivalent delivery service from UPS/FedEx/Amazon…

At that point, the USPS will be toast!

  2. I don’t get half my mail now and I get other peoples mail all the time. I return theirs, but nobody has returned any of mine. The service is awful.
