(CNS News) — In a recent survey, Gallup discovered that 46% of Americans, nearly half the country, have a gun in their home, and 33% said that they “personally” own a gun.
In the survey of 1,009 adults, aged 18 and older, Gallup asked, “Do you have a gun in your home?
In response, 46% said they have a “gun in home or elsewhere on property,” and 33% said they “personally own a gun.”
“Personal gun ownership has averaged 30% since 2005, when it was first measured,” reported Gallup. “Household gun ownership was higher in the early 1990s than it is now, but since 1996, 43% of U.S. adults on average have said there is a gun in their household.”
The survey also found that 51% of males said they had a gun in their home, as did 41% of females.
