Dodd To Remain County Council President

SALISBURY – County Council President Larry Dodd will continue to lead Wicomico’s legislative body with a new second-in-command.

Last week, the Wicomico County Council reelected Dodd as the council’s president and elected Councilman Joe Holloway as the council’s new vice president.

“I would like to say the year 2020 has been a rough year for the entire county and county council, and it was a bad year for me to be president,” Dodd said. “But with the help of all the council members and the staff … we got through it. I look forward to 2021, and hopefully we will be done with COVID-19 and things will get a lot better in this county.”

At the first meeting each December, the council elects a president and vice president from among its members. The president – or vice president in his or her absence – is tasked with setting the agenda and presiding over all meetings.

  1. I would just like to say that the roads in Salisbury look real nice and I know they are not finished, the one filling in for Jake Day has done a better job then his performance and I wish she could keep the position permanently. Before all you could see were pot holes and feel them I am sure many a vehicle for taken to shops for alignment and it was costing citizens a lot of money, not to mention it looks much better. Just wanted to put in a good word for the improvements we see.

  2. hey idiot, you driven down fitzwater at all over the last several months? been reworked so many times looks like a ww1 battlefield. and it’s no better then when they started, actually worse! yeah that’s progress!

  3. Joe Holloway can you Please come to Pittsville and get the drainage issues solved which have plagued the town for YEARS! We have a town policeman we are paying for who has 2 vehicles to play with at taxpayers expense. He is also the code enforcement officer and rental inspector to the tone of over 65k a year. The second dump on the right off 346 E onto 353 N in owned by his buddies MOLNARSLUMSINC so nothing is said about this junk yard but let grass get over 8 inches and you have a infraction notice signed by The Chief himself. Pittsville has NO need for a town cop when Mike Lewis and his guys do a Great Job county wide. We have the water issue resolved now we need the drainage issue fixed and the town triple dipper cop code and rental inspector terminated!

    1. Yea Joe ride thru the town tomorrow and check out the standing water. For a incorporated town this is CRAZY. This issue should be top priority close to the water issues a while back. There has been tens of thousands of dollars handed out to fly by night contractors who have done nothing but take the money and run with no one to check what was done or not done. At least the town of Willards or Fruitland has property drainage for town resident. The town manager and town council need to wake up and prioritize needful things that the residents need badly but instead waste money on law enforcement to legally steal your money.
