If you’re not a come-over then you already know that Sheriff Lewis is basically the unelected king of the county…he literally has made people disappear but his agency can help cover it up, much like the actions of the recent officer AND OTHERS. He hand-picked the recent walking timebomb Julie Giordano as the new county executive despite her going after two career LEOS being supportive of BLM…. and now he will have even more power with no accountability. Nothing will change unless the state gets involved or he decides to give up power, which tyrants typically don’t do….very sad state of affairs for our great county.
Why do Wicomico residents keep voting him back in? He must be doing something right.

Before the Metro guy blames our Sheriff – he should think that the Sheriff cant responds to something under investigation. Social Media all wants to prosecute people before the trial. Sure he could make a blank statement on it, but in reality he is restricted by what he can and cant say and Metro dude from the big department that probably wants to run for Sheriff next time – should know this.
So before you become judge and jury on the incident, and the Sheriff, lets wait see what happens.
Ask the Sheriff why he let a heroin dealer destroy my house and reputation after I begged for help. Ask why he ignored my recording of the heroin dealer pretending to be a detective for Salisbury. Ask him why he has the heroin dealers family as friends on FB. I stand behind our sheriff this office and Lewis at the helm is the best we have. The SPD on the other hand is under the leadership of Duncan “Chief hug a thug”. And I will point out no criticism of the officers that serve under her. Lewis has done an outstanding job and when you contact their office the response is immediate. Talk to the community her serves & our respect for him & the Sheriff’s office. You need to be more insightful & hear what your community thought if your term before you throw stones!
Well, that writer in the above article sure thinks highly of himself. I wonder how he can judge someone’s performance when he hasn’t had a comparable job. Just being a cop in “major metropolitan” doesn’t qualify him to judge a Sheriff in a small county. Mike Lewis has proven himself to be a good Sheriff by the many years he has served Wicomico County. He ran unopposed Nov 8th and has been unopposed in several previous elections. What does that tell you? Also lets not forget that he retired from the Maryland State Police with a flawless record. If the writer of the above article thinks he knows the job better and can operate the county law enforcement agency better than Sheriff Mike Lewis, maybe his name should have been on the ballot just 3 days ago. After all, I’m sure he didn’t decide Mike isn’t up to standards from just this one recent incident involving a Deputy. I would venture to say that the “major metropolitan” would love to be his place of residence again if he’s not satisfied in Wicomico County.

There is nothing more that can be said about this POSSIBLE tragic incident. I stand by Mike, and the job he has done and is doing! Unfortunately, he is now in a circumstance that “one aw S**T, wipes out years of at a boys”. As for the recently retired law enforcement officer, taking a poke at the situation, ask yourself how many possible recruits from your previous career, did you encourage to make the switch down to the land of pleasant living.
Well > he was just a ticket writer if he was in the state police in MD before this job !!! So no surprise !!!

10:30 you know nothing about Mike’s duties while in the State Police. Without going into detail I will tell you he just may have kept drugs out of your kids or your neighbor’s kids hands. He took his job very seriously then as he does now.
Yes, we do, including the two murders he committed as a statey…..its a shame that body cams didn’t exist then because the odds are he’d be in an orange jumpsuit right now if they did….

This SHERIFF is the best the SHORE has had in decades. He has been consistent in his leadership and great for the people of the area. I have seen several of you RETIRED-NO-IT-ALLS come in the area to get tax dollars to move here and then when you have time in you go out on medical or some other excuse to get another retirement. This SHERIFF applied for this position to improve the area and serve the people. You must not of improved the FORCE you moved from or made it safer else you would not have moved here.
Mike Lewis made this area safer? Are you crazy? Crime in this county…and yes I mean outside of lil baltimore “salisbury” is just as bad…..the police shortage here is as bad as anywhere and he’s got dozens of scandels like this…including how he basically send Capt Hilliard to his death with no backup….term limits for the bums would help…
Old Picture ! Just 3 stars ! This glory hound and his administration crew are eating Wicomico County tax dollars alive. Really wish he would move on to Florida but not before his new “MIKEY” palace is built. People think this guy is some sort of savior.

I’ve been in criminal justice enforcement 25 years State and 15 years private Contractor.
. I was put in for Police Officer of the year for Community service at my agency. before retirement and going Contractual on my own .
Years back My LUNATIC
( now ex wife ) was running around and when I found out she saturated me with Restraining orders.
I was taken back by the aggressive behavior directed at me by the Court Serving DEPUTIES at 3am at my home.
I was not aware what was going on, and just took my uniform off , and my family dog went ballistic because someone was beating down my home door so hard, it nearly was coming off the hinges.
I heard voices outside discussing coming in and taking out my dog.
I have seen death in my career and many crazy folks , but the behaviors directed at me by these DEPUTIES
was very un nerving
assuming someone was trying to break into my home…
I glanced out my window and observed more Wicomico County Sheriff’s cars pulling up
* CAR RADIOS BLASTING ” in a quiet neighborhood at 3am….
I protected myself and pushed my dog away from the front door while calling a FBI buddy of mine to discuss the antics by Lewis department.
My FBI friend advised me to
” stand down ” and he researched the DEPUTIES motives, and determined it was my LUNATIC ex wife filling Restraining orders.
( She had disappeared 1 year ago., and I had filed for divorce through my attorney)…
I felt Lewis department was being overzealous, and fortunately they did not try to enter my home and left the residence.
I thanked my FBI buddy and at 8am. I went to see my attorney. after pulling a 12 hour shift with my Contractual work.
My attorney advised my ex may be involved with the DEPUTIES
( more than acquaintance ) and that we had court the next day.
The Judge saw through the lunacy of my soon to be ex wife and dismissed the Restraining order…
I went to the Court clerk to get my paperwork, the “Barney Rubble ” look alike Deputy ( who was beating my door down ).
stepped in front of me, , took the court papers I had and refused to provide me my dismissal.; all the while trying to provoke me to an altercation
Lewis Department needs to be investigated and his calous way of dealing with the public harms the very loyality the department is suppose to provide to TAX PAYING CITIZENS.
