t’s a bill no one wants to see right before Christmas.
Dozens of WSSC customers have complained on social media about their exorbitant water bill prices.
“It was a shock,” says Bethesda resident Seth Engel. “It was several times higher than our normal water bill.”

FOX 5 obtained a recent bill from a customer only to find that her quarterly statement came out to over $700—more than three times what she normally pays.
We reached out to WSSC to find out why these bills are so high. They say the high bills can be partially attributed to people staying inside more.
“We are using more water because we are at home more. Usually, they’re at work 8 hours a day now they’re home most of the day using the bathroom, washing your hands more,” says WSSC spokesperson Luis Maya.
He says that’s not the only thing driving up costs—plumbing issues could also be the culprit.
“You might not even know that leaks are sometimes the biggest reason for a high bill. You might not hear a toilet leak and that one is probably the culprit for high usages,” says Maya.
He says there are some things you can do now to help reduce your bill. He says people should try and take shorter showers. Also, when you’re washing your hands, turn off the water while you’re scrubbing. Finally, use the dishwasher as opposed to hand washing. You’d be surprised how much water is wasted when you’re washing your dishes in the sink.
If you do have a large bill Maya says to contact WSSC. Many times they will send out someone to check your meter. If there are any discrepancies, they’ll adjust your bill and credit you any money back.
NO they just want to charge you salves more and hope you all are to stupid to notice, which most of you are! And they hope you will pay it! Which you will! There is no god damn leak that is causing this woman to pay 3x or more than her current bill was always at! And you are not suing your water that much more a day to make your bill 700 bucks when your bill is normally 100 or lower! That is them charging you more because they can! But I love how they justify it, oh you just have a leak, leaks are hidden culprits to make your bill high!
I keep telling you salves, but you are just to god damn stupid to listen! I told you taxes and fees will go up, while you lose your jobs! And I told you slaves they would go up becasue of this virus and they want more money to cover budget shortfalls as they always do, Remember BERLIN???? 3 years in a row now???? While you people have no money to spend to help the economy, less and less people can pay taxes hence, shortfalls for the govt! Hence how the economy works, get is slaves? Slaves with no money can’t spend it no needless bullshit, which drives the economy! Bad economy, higher taxes! And this is goign to happen in MD if it hasn’t already! They haven’t even pushed the KIRWIN PLAN TAXES into play yet!!! Just wait!!!!
Somebody has to pay for all those who are defaulting on their bills because they have lost jobs due to the lockdowns.
Oh this is just the beginning. Water is the next hottest investment commodity. Forget gold, oil ,natural gas, lithium and Uranium. Air is next. How’s God’s bountiful garden look now ? You pay to eat, drink, breath, breed and be buried in it. No wonder people believe in an after life of Heavenly Bliss.
to damn funny, so now they rob you for the privilege of sending polluted water into your home! they refuse to implement the filtration systems required to remove all the chemicals from drugs, birth control pills etc from the water sent to your home.
