Carlos Garcia was in jail Tuesday night after being treated for a gunshot wound when an Edinburg, Texas, woman defended herself and her children by shooting Garcia through a bedroom door. He had allegedly broken into her home, the Concho Valley Home Page reported.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to a call about a burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, Hildago County deputies learned from the homeowner that a man had broken into the home via its garage.
Attempting to hide, the homeowner locked herself and her children into a bedroom, and the intruder tried to get in.
“The homeowner warned Garcia that the police had been called and she had a gun,” the sheriff’s office said.
“When Garcia refused to leave and continued to try to get into the bedroom, the homeowner shot once through the door.”

In Maryland, she would have been arrested and imprisoned. By the police.
They SHOULD be concerned with HONEST citizens protecting their homes and families from danger, but, instead, the bring the weight of the entire justice system down (and do it with purposeful glee, like some heroes from Camelot) on the INNOCENT people.
“Protecting and serving” is what I think they call it.
Protecting politicians and serving “We, the People” up on platters.
Say “gun” around a cop and these brave men and women crap their pants and are ready to shoot even little kids. They don’t need to actually SEE a gun, just hear the words.
Just knowing there are 80-90 MILLION gun owners (and that number doesn’t count the criminals with guns, just the honest ones), holding 300 MILLION guns of every type keeps them awake at night.
And always ready to kill.
