Westminster MD.Main St Boxers went two for two last Saturday night at the Carrol County Ag Center in Westminster MD.Corey Moore an open class 160 pound boxer dominated Bailey Marino out of Virginia in the three round contest. “Corey has really stepped up in the last few months” Said Coach Hal Chernoff. “He fought the USA National and Golden Gloves Champions in the last Golden Gloves Tournament and looked better than he has ever looked in the past even in that loss. We went to spare with him again in D.C and Corey looked very sharp. I think that training has given him some new found confidence,” Chernoff added.Anthony Drummond a Delaware native that has trained out of Main St gym for just over three years, pushed himself in a crowd pleaser against a very tough and game Jason Molina out of Champion’s Gym in Rockville MD. The two traded punches at times in the center of the ring, but in the third and last round Drummond was making Molina miss with his defense and landed clean punches which caused the judges to award him the win.“More than the win, the guys looked very sharp, were in great condition and kept their focus through the whole fight, which is credit to my coaching staff, Coach Tyrone Hargrove and Coach Markeeses Hines.” Said Chernoff.Next’s up will be a fight in Baltimore MD on Nov. 5th and then the team will be ready to battle here in Salisbury at Main St Gym on Dec 10th. The event “Alternate to the Nationals” will wrap up the 2022 year of boxing. For tables or tickets call. 410-430-6676
