Harris Statement on USDA Grant To Crisfield’s Law Enforcement Department

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (R-MD), Acting Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a $50,000 grant for the purchase two hybrid Ford Interceptors for Crisfield’s Law Enforcement Department. This purchase will include additional equipment outfitted on these vehicles. These will replace vehicles currently in use that are more than a decade old and have some major safety issues, including transmission issues, engine trouble, hanging wires, and rust throughout their undercarriages. The city of Crisfield requested this funding to replace its old vehicles with safer, more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Statement from Congressman Harris:

“I am pleased to see that this USDA grant will fund the needs of our local police department. Our law enforcement officers confront dangerous situations daily and we must ensure they have reliable equipment to continue protecting and serving our communities. I look forward to seeing this money put to good use.”

  1. I’ve been getting giant anti-Harris postcards from the Democrat party, even though I’ve been a registered Republican for over eight years. The Democrats don’t seem to want to update any kind of lists that would reflect their true numbers.

  2. Robert The Bruce

Why not buy the police cars from Tawes Bros in Crisfield and further help the community. GM makes a better vehicle which would also save the tax payers $. I personally pay enough taxes to the City of Crisfield to pay for one of these vehicles, what does Crisfield do with the tax $ they collect now ? This spigot of free $ is coming to a tragic end for this nation ! 32 Trillion in debt . A trillion seconds is 33,000 years . Think about it !

That statement is a joke. Crisfield cops are to scared to go after real criminals.

  4. i personally would love to know what the iq levels are of someone dumb enough to work for such a podunk police force! surely not the best and brightest!
