Mayor Adams says migrants could be housed on cruise ships

New York City shelters are so overwhelmed by the migrant crisis that Mayor Eric Adams is considering using cruise ships as temporary housing.

“We examined everything from the legality of using any type of cruise ship for temporary housing,” Hizzoner said during an interview on WCBS Sunday.

“We’re looking at everything to see, how do we deal with this?”

Adams made the suggestion just hours before The Post reported that a record number of nine buses carrying migrants traveled into the city.

Each bus typically carries between 40 and 50 migrants.

  1. So what do i think the cruise ship industry said when they heard this? Move our ships away from NY, NJ and such.

Like the cruise ship industry would embrace the mayors problem.

    Sheesh

  2. Speakin of Mayors…..back here on the island, its bikes on the boards talk again. Motorized bikes to be precise. Can figure a yes or no answer given the complexity of law for ADA motorized vehicles.

Hmmm…this one is another doozy that grows hair by the month. We went thru years of attractions on the boards, later referred to entertainers but then a stripper pole showed up, then referred to as business entrepreneurs. That led to spacing, faux Disney and DC comics dressed up heros and the such. As the City tried to say no no no….it became more and more complicated….so to say.

ADA compliant vehicles yes, motorized bike no.

Is it that hard….well I guess so. This will be another interesting one….with hopes it doesnt get to the high courts, like boobies!

    Happy offseason again!

  3. Maybe the cruise ship operators like the idea. After all, hasn’t their business declined a lot in recent years and wouldn’t this be guaranteed revenue?
