A few days ago I was at local Food Lion loading up during my monthly shopping.
I got in check out line. In front of me checking out was a tall man and little girl. I mentioned to him what a lovely little girl he had with him.
He paid for his groceries and loaded up a cart.
I started putting my things on check out area.
He saw my USN Retired cap on and asked how long I had served.I said 24 years and he seemed surprised.
I was putting my things on check out counter when I heard him say to the cashier “I got his”.
I said no, that is too much. I had a hundred bill in my hand to pay for my things.
He said again to cashier that he would pay my bill.($109.00)
I tried to give him the $100.00 bill I had out. He would not take it. He said something like “you earned it”.
When I stepped outside I tried to find him and the little girl. No Luck.
He was a tall handsome man , If I see a man like him with that pretty little girl I will try to repay him in some way.
How do I thank someone like him, words are not enough?
Maybe a friend will put this up on his website.

As long as we have hope to good deeds we can and will get through anything. Dave thank you for service and continued patriotic hope.
You earned it with your service to our Nation. Accept that act of kindness and never forget it. I myself will thank anyone I see in uniform anywhere I am. I can’t pay their bills but I can say thank you.
And I do know of others that will pay. My former boss was an army brat and I was mentioning a story of some cadets in full uniform at the mall doing a good deed for someone and how I thank those. He said whenever he is in a restaurant and sees someone in uniform he tries to pay for their meal.
It’s a small thing for a civilian but it makes us feel good to be able to show our gratitude.
God Bless you,
MAGA
Dear Dave,
Accept and say thank you. There are plenty of us who feel the same way / you earned it, and I am thankful.
Very Respectfully,
Paladin
Gives me hope for the future knowing the little girl witnessed the proper way to treat our Vets.
there are angels amongst us! Devils also! one must choose God Jesus and life! we see what the demonic democrats have chosen. Time is coming to stand up and be counted, either wheat or chaff! goats or sheep!
Glad to hear a good story for a change.
Thank you Dave for your U.S.N. service and thanks to the tall young man.
