Poll Question

What are you doing to cut back on personal expenses due to the Biden inflation?

  1. I am cutting back on what money and assets I was planning on leaving to my children. In other words, I’m going to spend it now on me!

  2. Gave up cable tv. It was just a bunch of woke garbage anyway. Make my own food and coffee. stopped going to bars. Basically stopped spending money on things I don’t need.

  3. I’m on a fixed income so it’s hard. My house is paid for so that’s good. The rest is giving up what I can when I can. For instance I used to buy bottled water only for taking with me on walks. Instead, I bought a dime store plastic bottle I fill from my fridge. I used to buy potato chips, now I get the popcorn and salt it. Small things but there are more and they save money in the end.
I feel saddened that in America one who worked all their lives and saved responsibly as I did even has to worry about these things.

    1. I “hear” if you are shopping and miss those chips, grab a bag, est them, then throw away the bag prior to checkout. No one cares. You get your chips and popcorn. WINNING!
      HAHAHAHA

  4. It’s not “Biden inflation.” It’s just inflation. It happens now and again. Just a normal part of the cycles of our economic system. Everyone ought to prepare for it in advance. Except, uh oh, people don’t. And then they blame whoever happens to be President at the time as if it was their fault.

    1. This. Inflation is happening everywhere, not just the US. Technically inflation is lower here than places like UK and Europe. Gas prices too. Inflation started under Trump because of the pandemic. Biden’s just the one that has to deal with it, and so far he hasn’t done much to try to combat it.

  5. Not a lot, ’cause I’m already pretty frugal. Fewer trips in the car saves a few bucks a week. Making a big pot of chili with whatever meat is on sale and using the bread machine at least once a week are good for eating on the cheap. Made chicken & sausage gumbo and baked baguettes over the weekend for six adults for under $15.

Thanks, Instant Pot and Zojirushi, for your fine products.

  6. obiden is turning us into a third world country and nobody is stopping him. Food shortages, empty shelves, worker shortages, low wages, inflation, businesses closing, rampant violence, etc, etc. I have lived through the best of times for this country, and can’t believe its going to hell without a fight. Thanks obiden voters, you should be proud

  7. 1:49 – You are mistaken if you think inflation is a given. With Donald Trumps economy everyone was beginning to prosper. Gas – the lifeblood of our economy – was cheap and we were independent and even beginning to export.
So quit with your righteous ignorance. Most Americans can see and feel the stark contrast between Trumps economy and Bidens; hence the drop in approval.
But if you have so much money then by all means start giving it out. There are many folks who will suffer in horrible ways through this depression.

  8. I don’t know the average age of participants here. That would be interesting. Some of us had Depression Era parents and perhaps some Grandparents and maybe many more come from homes where they knew and learned nothing from anyone. The post-WWII retooling of the Military-Industrial Machine to consumer goods along with the help of Madison Avenue Modern Quack Psychology and television created the Modern Atomic Dream usurping Baseball and making SHOPPING the National Pastime. Throwing age-old practical survival skills aside to BUYING everything and often on CREDIT. Who ever imagined we’d buy water and pay for 500 channels of TV with 500 million commercials coercing us to buy ever more shit that ends up in a landfill? Air Conditioning LOL?
We are Brainwashed WORSE than Communists under the guise of freedom yet similarly enslaved. Our politics have become clownish Media Driven races of FEEL GOOD affirming beliefs that have nothing to do with anything truly at hand and the practicality of indivual life prosperity personal toil THRIFT and Success.

  9. Living on social security is really tricky these days. We used to eat out once in awhile at reasonable places, not the expensive ones. Now even those have had to raise their prices so we go even less and have basically just cut out unnecessary spending and cut down on driving…….no more Sunday afternoon drives.

  10. Ok…what if during Joey we see a decline with barrels of oil (below 100 now). What if the reset happens with the economy. (We r seeing a reset now. Fed even talking bout Bout .75 increase soon). We saw progress in the last yrs of Trump only to be ruined. But now there maybe relief. Point being CONgress. Should we continue with the ups and downs or……….i dunno.

  11. We are having to dip into our retirement savings just to pay bills now and keep our nose above water. There will be none left and no way to put it back in again.

  12. I’m not purchasing any new appliances or vehicles. Just trying to keep what I have maintained and running. I don’t purchase any luxury items in the grocery store like steak or seafood. Mainly cheap cuts of beef, ground beef and chicken when on sale. Cut back on snacks and soda’s. Cut internet tv subscriptions like sling tv and Netflix. Cut the AC back to 78 during the day and open the windows at night if it is cool, otherwise, I keep ac at 75 at night with the ceiling fans. We buy only what we need and nothing else.
