The US Supreme Court on Thursday struck down New York’s century-old law on carrying concealed weapons.
Prior to the Supreme Court’s Thursday ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.
Justice Clarence Thomas wrote New York’s law on concealed carry permits “violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms in public.”
The Justice Department released a statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling:
The Department of Justice today released the following statement from spokeswoman Dena Iverson following the Supreme Court’s decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc., et al. v. Bruen, Superintendent of New York State Police, et al.:
“We respectfully disagree with the Court’s conclusion that the Second Amendment forbids New York’s reasonable requirement that individuals seeking to carry a concealed handgun must show that they need to do so for self-defense. The Department of Justice remains committed to saving innocent lives by enforcing and defending federal firearms laws, partnering with state, local and tribal authorities and using all legally available tools to tackle the epidemic of gun violence plaguing our communities.”
And all of these politicians that are upset by the Supreme Court’s ruling have body guards that are carrying a concealed weapon. It’s ok for them but not for the rest of us ordinary citizens

When is the DOJ going to start to enforce the Federal FIREARMS LAWS? They pass everything down to the STATES SOCIALIST PROSECUTERS which does not enforce and prosecute instead they give them a slap on the wrist and let them walk. DOJ and the AG almost never prosecute the FEDERAL FIREARMS LAWS that are on the books. The local LAWYERS even allow criminals with firearms convictions allow weapons to be in the home, which is against the law. Let law abiding citizens have CCW and carry. Then there will be less crime, since criminals prey on weaker citizens and don’t want to be hurt / killed. Then make AGS and Prosecutors convict and punish them to the fullest extent of the law. If they don’t then they should be charged as an accomplice and never be able to practice law anywhere upon immediate removal. GUN VIOLENCE will drop quickly
