A Viewer Writes: More Lies & Political Deception

WTH! She is promising to build sidewalks for the town of Pittsville! I don’t think the rest of the county is going to want to pay for the sidewalks for the Town of Pittsville’s municipal government! No wonder Sean McHugh, the council president endorses her! The Town of Pittsville has their own tax base and the School Board has their own budget! She is promising to cut the schools budget to make the haters happy but now she is going to build sidewalks for them? By the way, the Maintenance of Effort is always funded by the County for the School Board and its state law, the County  Executive can’t cut their budget! She is telling so many lies to get elected!

Publishers Notes: It is true, the County Executive has NO POWER over the Board of Education. For those of you who don’t know, maintenance of effort means the Executive can actually offer MORE money then what is demanded each year by the BOE.  When ANY candidate starts throwing around they can do this or that to the BOE, it’s complete BS!  It’s a LIE!

As for the town of Pittsville, it is incorporated. The County shouldn’t have to provide ANYTHING for that town. If this candidate was so concerned about sidewalks they should go to the BOE first and make them provide sidewalks on their property and finally go to the Town of Pittsville and demand they consider sidewalks.

Finally, the tax rate in Pittsville could be the lowest in the entire state of Maryland. Perhaps the Candidates should recommend Pittsville increase their tax rate so they can afford sidewalks, a second Police Officer and so forth. Never mind, that would be HONESTY and political suicide.

  1. So why do the residents of Pittsville have to pay county taxes? If we have to pay them we should at least get SOME benefit from the county. I’m not talking about sides walks. There really isn’t a place or a need for them. We pay 3 times more in county taxes and get really nothing from them. Sean is doing a fine job. Not sure I agree with what Giordano has to offer. Seriously why would they need sidewalks at the front of the school? The kids that do walk to school usually enter from the back and if they want to build a sidewalk back there they will have to figure out how to move a ditch and a few houses or if they put it on the other side of the road they will have to cross Main Street to get to School Lane, which is also the road parents use to drop off/pick up their kids.

  2. Sidewalk funding often comes as federal grants, especially to provide walkways with accommodations for disabled people in wheelchairs.

  3. She sounds like the kid in high school who was running for class president and promising no homework, soda machines in the lunchroom and a 4 day school week.

  4. Giordano has also been going around to all the local FOP events saying that she was “close family friends” with Hilliard’s family…that is an absolute lie…..shameful…

Joe, I understand that this candidate, may be talking and yes promising things she might not be able to accomplish. However, being a Pittsville resident the need for sidewalks there, is much needed for public safety.
One should also note that once the sidewalks would be in, the costs associated with them would be over where an additional officer would be helpful, but it is a cost that would keep on going and growing. I have never agreed with the premise that new schools will provide a better education as the building doesn’t teach, but as long as this building is going to be used as a school for the foreseeable future, sidewalks would be a good thing. Perhaps this candidates ideas could be put forth in a way to get the Town’s people behind her and through community and business involvement, find alternate funds to complete the process. As I see it, this is one of the first initiatives that any Wicomico County politician will have brought to the area that is helpful.
    Respectfully,
    Joe

    1. Giordano doesn’t know the first thing about how the county budget works…let alone that the county executive has NO jurisdiction over that…we have a teaching and staff shortage crisis here in Pittsville and she is promising useless sidewalks in an area where most parents use their cars? She should try walking into the school and talking with people who actually work there rather than facebook photo ops…..-Dave W.

      1. I have to wonder if she even knows what the job responsibilities are and what the job is. If she does she doesn’t act like it.

  6. .her shameless way that she’s been trying to get votes out of Deputy Hilliard’s murder should be a crime. I may not agree with everything Mr. Psota says or does but at least he has experience in the job, was very close to Mr. Culver and he’s held the line as a proud LEO for my entire lifetime in the county…this election should be about electing adults rather than social media whores….

  7. You all are afraid an outsider may win, aren’t ya! Remember, change is seldom wanted but often needed. The good old boys have held Wicomico County back for many years. It’s all about surrounding yourself with good people. She’s got my vote.

    1. She’s got mine also! We need people like her in Wicomico County. Sick of the slum lords and progressives ruining this county.

      1. I don’t know what drugs your on, but calling people like Mr. Holloway, Dodd, Psota, Sheriff Lewis or Acle progressives is crazy….as a county-based LEO, I can tell you firsthand that this woman Giordano is trying to use my fallen brother’s murder for votes. She was literally passing out campaign materials at the fundraiser we had for Glenn at the FOP lodge last week… …there is no way she is getting my vote or most of my brothers and sisters in uniform who plan on voting…even the braindead libtard Ernie Davis held the line….I can respect that at least…

    2. good people? guess you really don’t know her do ya? afraid of a outsider? No, that has nothing to do with it. you’re a fool, as they say a fool and their money are soon parted.

      1. 6:16 ???? Great debating points? Spoken like a true liberal. Let’s call people names instead of having a real discussion. It’s the democrat way…bash and trash. It’s all you people know. Smdh And by the way…she has my vote too?
