Date of Incident: 14 June 2022
Location: Wicomico County
Narrative: On 14 June 2022, a school resource officer had a video brought to his attention that was being shared amongst students at Parkside High School. The video was of an individual who was reportedly a student at that school. In the video, this individual is observed holding what appeared to be a rifle while making inappropriate and insensitive remarks that were threatening in nature.
Sheriff’s Office personnel immediately launched an investigation and positively identified the student in the video, who is a juvenile. During that investigation, deputies recovered the rifle that was brandished and determined it to be a pellet rifle. That pellet rifle has been seized as part of the investigation.
This is currently an active and on-going investigation and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to work with the Board of Education while consulting with the State’s Attorney’s Office. The student involved in this video will not be at the school for what remains of the school year.
This is an unfortunate incident.My prayers go out to the family. Don’t be too critical. Do you always know what your children are doing?
Student holding the gun and causally throwing around the “N” word is son of current board member Tonya Laird Lewis- Wicomico County Board of Education, District 3. She should resign immediately and discontinue seeking re-election. So sad.

You do not have to like another’s opinion but how about respecting it? No, I am not a liberal but I believe in civil communication with others.

There is no such thing as gun control and the government won’t take away peoples guns either. The more rules that prevent civilized citizens to purchase guns only hurt those citizens. Bad guys don’t go by the rules, yet one party pounds the message Gun Control.
Doesn’t work when the Bad guys play by their own rules. I don’t have the answer on Gun Control. I’ve watch for decades how the War on Drugs has worked. Seems bad guys are still finding ways around the “rules”.
Yet another unconstitutional violation of our beautiful second amendment.
