Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan called Florida’s newly passed parental rights legislation “absurd” during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the “Parental Rights in Education” bill into law Monday, which prohibits instruction surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity in K-3 classrooms and requires school districts to notify parents about any changes to their child’s physical, mental and emotional health, except in cases of child abuse.
“The whole thing seems like … just a crazy fight,” Hogan said. “It concerns me that DeSantis is always talking about [how] he was not demanding businesses to do things but he was telling the cruise lines what they had to do, he was telling local schools what they had to be mandating and now he wants to criticize Disney for expressing how they feel about that bill. I mean, they have every right to, we have a thing called Freedom of Speech … I think the bill was kind of absurd, and not something that would’ve happened in our state.”

Freedom of Speech includes me having a say in what my grandkids are taught in public schools. It also allows me to say “no” to absurd left wing idiots who want to brainwash the kids into things that are not in the best interest of ANY child !!!

What a RINO. He should pay more attention to what the bill actually does before opening his foolish mouth. Second, he should pay more attention to the MAGA movement and what it means. RINO’s like him are out and will continue to be voted out. As for Maryland, so sad but it’s a lost state in my opinion. I’m too old to move out but I would encourage those in Maryland who are able to leave, go to a red state. The American dream still lives.

Hogan is absurd, not the state of Florida. The only reason I would like to see Hogan run for president is to see how bad he would surely be defeated.
He needs to keep his mouth shut if he wants any Republicans to be elected in November.

He’ll definitely run in 2024, and likely won’t make it past the Iowa Caucuses. Whoever is telling him to run is doing him a huge disservice.
Until Larry can run Maryland as effectively and efficiently as Florida is, he should zip his lip.
