Trump likely to win GOP presidential nomination in 2024, poll shows

President Trump is likely to win the Republican presidential nomination for the third time in a row in 2024 if he tries to retake the White House, according to a new poll.

A survey of 765 GOP voters, released Tuesday by Politico and Morning Consult, found Trump with 53 percent support — vastly ahead of potential GOP competitors.

Vice President Mike Pence was the preference of 12 percent of Republicans and Trump’s eldest son and campaign surrogate Donald Trump Jr. came in third with 8 percent.

Three possible candidates had 4 percent support among Republicans, including Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, who voted in February to remove Trump from office, former South Carolina Gov. and ex-UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri, Tim Scott of South Carolina, Rick Scott of Florida and Tom Cotton of Arkansas each had 1 percent support, as did South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who this year moved to squash rumors she was vying to replace Pence on the GOP ticket.

  1. Well 2024 is all good but we should be concerned about 2020, that you and everyone (right or left) knows darn well that President Donald J. Trump in fact had to have won overwhelmingly. He should not have to fight for the position that voters wanted and put him it. He has been fighting for everything since being hired by us in 2016 and it needs to end with him staying in our White House right now when we want him and voted for him. Everyone reading this no matter if hard left or atheist knows slow joe wasn’t even a challenge to the good incumbent Trump. Like all other battles he has won since in office, I hope and pray, yes pray, that he wins this one he is in now for 2020. Thank you sir. Go Trump/Pence and the U.S.A.
