(March 14, 2022, Salisbury, MD) Messages about sexuality are all around, from music to movies to peers. These messages are often misleading or inaccurate, but parents and guardians can help youth separate fact from fiction. If you want to learn how to become the most credible and influential resource about sexuality for your young person, we have a workshop for you!
True You Maryland presents “Talk to Me First: How to Become Your Children’s Go-To Person about Healthy Sexuality”, a workshop for parents and guardians in Wicomico County. National sexuality education expert Deborah Roffman will share strategies for navigating tricky conversations, including ways to keep the conversation going.
This workshop will be held in the conference room of the Greater Salisbury Building, 200 W. Main Street, on Friday, April 1, 2022. Attendees can park in the Circle Avenue parking lot. A free dinner will be available at 5:30pm, and the workshop will run from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Attendees will receive a free copy of Roffman’s book Talk to Me First. Please register in advance, as space is limited. Follow this link to register: https://forms.gle/NCi8CtMxNWxQLPRV8. Please contact Alicia Miller with questions at aliciam.miller@maryland.gov or (443) 614-7726.
FYI: Roffman was employed as an educator with Planned Parenthood of MD from 1971-1974
Wow! Interesting that Mayor Day did not shut this down. Wonder if it escaped his radar, or if all of his minions (who read this page daily) will RUN to him? I’m guessing it is very scary for them to have parents attend seminars (for free to boot, and with a free dinner) that teach them how to interact and direct their children, instead of having the schools “educate” them.
….scary stuff indeed….
I am surprised at the location. Is this program being sponsored by the Greater Salisbury Committee?
