As if the lines at Sam’s for gas wasn’t bad enough, it’s about to get a LOT WORSE!
Now that Sam’s Club is in the process of eliminating cashiers and heading towards self check out, Walmart is rapidly on the same path. HOWEVER, get this. Walmart is in the process of adding more options. They are creating a new process whereas you pay a $100.00 yearly fee and with a minimum order of $35.00 you can get FREE DELIVERY. BUT WAIT, it gets even better. Once you puchase the $100.00 member ship it then allows ALL of those members to purchase gas at Sam’s Club!
So if you thought the lines were absolutely nuts already for Sam’s Club Members, just wait till all the non club members start getting in line for the 15 cents a gallon cheaper gas!
Now if my memory serves me correctly, the agreement the City of Salisbury made with Sam’s gas station was that if they installed pumps they’d have to offer gas for at least five cents lower then all local stations within a mile or two. You also had to be a member so as to avoid such traffic and problems. Will the City take the bull by the horns and STOP this madness? After all, they were smart enough back then to make sure Sam’s Club didn’t put all of the LOCAL gas station owners out of business.
If the Walmart deal goes through I have to wonder who the local stations will be suing, Sam’s Club/Walmart or the City of Salisbury. If this goes through I will be ditching my membership of almost 30 years. The lines for gas right now are bad enough as it stands now.
Back then, your city council and government staff was comprised of intelligent people. Not so much now.
SO pay 15 cents more and don’t sit in line. People probably sit there with engines are running.
Time to ditch wall mart altogether- lets face it- the libs were right about how wall mart comes into a town, destroys mom and pop businesses and then raises prices for cheap Chinese crap. Was the America you remember better or worse than when Wall Mart was here?
Also, I refuse to use automated lines- takes jobs away from people.
The cheap Chinese crap is in most stores. You just pay more for it with a brand name attached.
I’m gonna buy a truck with an electric engine and kiss Biteones hiney . All the motorized vehicles will be electric in six months anyway . My what a good idea this president has , he’s a gifted man with out a brain.
Speaking of trucks. Saw a brand new Ford F150 black widow (non electric) for $91,000. Yes, $91,000 for a TRUCK with a lift package.

It would be at least a little better if they let you get gas on the otherside of the pump. Most vehicles have their gas tank access on the left side of the vehicle. Sams Club will not let you access the pumps while facing the store. I have seen the whole parking lot jammed up with long lines of cars but all the left side pumps were avaiable.
Over all that parking lot is not big enough. If you pull up to the far right pump, you can’t get out of the exit by the Dunken Donuts without doing a 3 point turn.
If Wall-Mart customer’s get to use the pumps it will be total chaos.
I stopped getting Sam’s Club gas because my truck often takes around 23 gallons when filling up so I am saving $3.45 on a tank of gas. My time is worth way more than that little savings. Plus I can use my Royal Farms Card and still save 10 cents per gallon with no lines.
The reason Walmart & Sams are into self serve is simple pay less wages, insurance & benefits to employees. But the self serve lines will get longer & longer and people will go elsewhere a lot can be bought at the dollar stores and it is cheaper and faster and they are a lot of them everywhere. Maybe they will even expand to sell more food and bigger items we need when we have to replace small appliances etc. Walmart & Sams need to learn there profits will go down maybe they will be the stores to close and we can bring back some of the stores we lost.
