Stacey Abrams’ hypocrisy and her sickening bid to make it about race reveals the sham of masks in school

President Abraham Lincoln once described a hypocrite as “the man who murdered his own parents, and then pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan.”

I thought of this when I saw the response by Georgia Democratic would-be governor Stacey Abrams to being caught not wearing a COVID mask as she sat surrounded by young schoolkids who were masked just as she’s demanded they should be.

To be fair to Abrams, she caught herself, quote-tweeting a damning series of photos taken at Glennwood Elementary School outside Atlanta after they were posted by the school’s principal, Dr. Holly Brookins.

She gushed that the visit had been “spectacular, delightful, and outstanding.”

In fact, it was a spectacular act of political self-harm that revealed outstanding double standards and has given her rivals endless delight.

The image that went viral, and which will surely haunt Abrams for the rest of her campaign, shows her sitting cross-legged on the floor with a massive grin as everyone behind her, including children and adults, is masked.
