And They’re Calling This A Blizzard!

This is how WE literally went to school whenever it snowed. It’s a joke to hear 8-12″ is a blizzard. How long will schools be closed?

  1. joe , this just in. wicomico rec dept. says that any worker that doesn’t have a 4 wheel drive can take a county truck home tonight. those trucks have plows on them. if you own a 4 wheel drive they pay for their own gas to come to work tonight and tomorrow but the others don’t. i work for county roads right down the street and we don’t have that luxury. Also some of those guys have told me they are planning on plowing their driveways and making a boatload plowing their neighbors driveways. WITH COUNTY TRUCKS. REALLY?

    1. Ex Landfill Joe

Probably Braggin Alan! He in his own mind was the best equipment operator the landfill had. Whats so strange about his story is Candy zapped him back in recycling after his verbal feats could not compare to actual equipment operation. They say he is over to parks across the street now so we will see how long before that department discovers his verbal expertise.

  2. Now that the schools are making the kids take the laptops home, now there will be NO SNOW DAYS – I feel sorry for these kids, forced to wear masks all day and no more fun snow days off – UGH !

  3. When I was a kid we had to walk 7/8 of a mile to our catholic school. It was uphill most of the way. All the neighborhood kids did this. Cold weather, rain, snow, it didn’t matter. The good news is that most of the walk home was downhill.

    1. You obviously attended the wrong school. We attended Poomoke High School and it was a 7 mile walk and it was UPHILL BOTH WAYS!!!

    2. You must have lived just down the street from me on St Agnes Ln in Baltimore. I went to the catholic St Agnes School for 8 years and walked 3,590′ uphill to get to school. (I measured it on Google Maps and it was truly uphill) Downhill going home was great since you could roll down the hill the whole way. But we did walk in all types of weather, and even during the threat of a nuclear bomb going off. We had to get to school to get under our school desks for protection from the blast. Life was much simpler then—and I survived to be almost 69 years old. But the liberals may just kill me, and everyone else, yet!

  4. I have relatives that live out west where they will get 20 FEET or more of snow during the winter. The kids always go to school. People just drive on roads with the snow packed 3-4 feet on top

  5. Another extended vacation for Teachers and BOE employees!

Since my job is essential, I am working today and will be tomorrow.

I see them as more useless feeders and a drain on hard working, tax paying citizens.
Angers me that half of my property tax bill goes to these worthless feeders!
Money better spent at a private school where parents have a say in their children’s education.

  6. School buses travel on narrow county roads with ditches on either side. City dwellers and come-hears are not aware of the hazards of driving in the county 15 to 20 miles out of city center. Snow covers the ditches.

  7. Everything is a crisis now. Declare a state of emergency and get federal money, that’s what it is all about. Hogan is just looking for more money from the feds to waste on foolishness here in Maryland. Really twelve inches of snow and a 40 mile an hour wind for one day is a state of emergency, give me a break. We should be embarrassed by how incompetent our elected officials are in this day and age.
