As Kamala’s Failure Pile Gets Bigger, More Lame Excuses Get Dropped

We’re now a full year into the Biden-Harris administration and unfortunately for both of them, the hits just keep on coming.

As we reported Tuesday, Biden and Harris have performed so poorly in their first year in office that two key voting blocs that are crucial to both parties in an election year – independents and suburban voters – have signaled in pretty staggering numbers they are ready to move on from them both, and the Democratic party in general as well.

Even worse for Harris is that in a potential head-to-head match-up with former President Donald Trump – who she and Biden have both been painting as Public Enemy Number One, she fares worse than Joe Biden. Where the most recent poll shows Biden potentially losing to Trump by 6, it has Harris losing by ten, proving that she has little to show for the elevation of her profile on a national level over the past year.

In fact, her getting more time in the spotlight the last 12 months than she’s ever had in her political career has probably hurt her more than helped her, and that’s saying a lot since the press has given her every opportunity to demonstrate she’s up to the task, opportunities that usually go south in a hurry right along with the assignments she’s given from Joe Biden, like being his point person on the “root causes” of the border crisis.

And now, as the failures continue to pile up, even more lame excuses are being dropped, excuses that conveniently are an attempt to make her look better by blaming her surroundings and the fact that she’s supposedly not a fan of the DC bubble:

Sitting among some of the most influential Black women in America last month, Vice President Kamala Harris confessed to a stifling sensation that had fallen over her while in office. She was struggling to escape the D.C. bubble, Harris confided to the group, which had gathered in person and virtually for the private audience, according to multiple attendees.

Harris has grumbled at times about the customs of a town where she remains a relative newcomer. She is prone to lament the Beltway’s obsession with familiarity, the routine groupthink of its thought leaders; and the intense interest in collecting scraps of palace intrigue, according to more than a dozen aides and people familiar with her conversations. She’s repeatedly instructed her aides to stay focused on the work. At the same time, she’s allowed that her instinct to ignore the superficial elements of politics has created more work for her team, which is forced to operate aggressively in that world.
