You’re too young to remember, but in the late 1950s there were tiny “teacup” monkeys advertised in the pages of comic books, right there alongside the hand buzzers, black tongue chewing gum and x-ray specs. I can’t imagine how many of the monkey breeding farm critters died in the U.S. Mail or very soon after in people’s homes.
