WEST OCEAN CITY, MD. – On Monday, January 24, 2022, at 4:36 PM deputies of the Worcester
County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Rambler Motel, 9942 Elm St., West Ocean City,
MD for the report of an Assault. Allied agency personnel in the area heard the call for service
over their radios and also responded.Upon the arrival of law enforcement personnel, the victim was immediately located and lifesaving efforts began. Members of the Ocean City Fire Department aided with patient care
however, the victim succumbed to their injuries onscene. The victim’s name is being withheld
pending notification of Next of Kin.
This is an active investigation and the community is asked to avoid the area. There is no
immediate threat to the community at this time.
This incident is being investigated by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit in conjunction
with the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation.
