Louie Anderson, stand-up comic and Emmy-winning ‘Baskets’ star, dies at 68

He was a familiar face on television through much of the 1980s and ’90s. “Baskets” gave him a distinctive late-career role.

Louie Anderson, the Emmy-winning stand-up comedian, actor and game show host who created the animated series “Life With Louie” and co-starred on the tragicomic FX show “Baskets,” died Friday.

He was 68.
