Virginia liquor stores to offer home delivery

The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority has just launched a pilot program testing home delivery in several areas across Virginia.

If you live in one of these five zones you can now have alcohol delivered to your home.

These locations are:

  • Bon Air, 2610 Buford Rd (#86) / Delivery zone: 25 miles
  • Herndon, 378-380 Elden St (#99) / Delivery zone: 15 miles
  • Leesburg, 32-F Catoctin Circle SE (#136) / Delivery zone: 25 miles
  • Chesapeake, 237 South Battlefield Blvd (#349) / Delivery zone: 25 miles
  • Suffolk, 3575 Bridge Rd (#377) / Delivery zone: 25 miles

“Home shopping is a priority for Virginia ABC, not only as a way of meeting our customers’ needs and expectations for convenience and service, but also to provide an additional contactless way to receive our products,” said CEO Travis Hill.

“During this pilot, we will gather insight into customer demand and operational capabilities,” he said.

If home delivery proves popular, ABC will consider expanding it to other areas of Virginia in 2021.

Orders placed online for “Ship to My Home” received before 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday will be delivered next day. Orders Friday through Sunday may take two to three days to arrive.

Either you or someone else who is 21 years of age or older must be present at the residence to receive the package.
