Rand Paul asks if YouTube will ‘kiss my …. and apologize’ as the CDC revises cloth mask guidance months after he was suspended from the site for claiming they don’t work

Sen. Rand Paul on Saturday hit back at YouTube censors who kicked him off the website for claiming that cloth masks do not protect against the coronavirus now that the Centers for Disease Control has updated its guidance on mask-wearing.

The Kentucky senator was suspended from the website for a week in August after he claimed in one video that ‘Most of the masks you get over the counter don’t work. They don’t prevent infection.’ He added that cloth masks, especially, do not work.

A spokesperson for YouTube told NBC News at the time that the video violated its policy on COVID-19 misinformation, which includes ‘claims that wearing a mask is dangerous or causes negative physical health effects’ or that masks don’t play a role in preventing the contraction or transmission of COVID-19.

But over the weekend, the CDC changed its tune amid the spread of the Omicron variant, and is now admitting that ‘loosely woven cloth products provide the least protection,’ according to the New York Times.

It says in its new guidance that ‘well-fitting disposable surgical masks and KN95s’ provide more protection against the virus, and is now urging Americans to ‘wear the most protective mask that you can that fits well and that you will wear consistently.’

Paul, who himself is a clinician, tweeted a link to the Times story about the new guidance, and wrote: ‘Does this mean snot-nosed censors at YouTube will come to my office and kiss my … and admit I was right?’

  1. They won’t. The left and their media arm are not held accountable for anything they say or do. They’ve got the freedom to say and do what they want, with no need for facts, and no one ever holds them accountable.

  2. Hold on now.

    (1) RuPaul, what happened to being kind to your fellow neighbor. The I told you so mindset, cmon.

    (2) cloth was supposed by 45″s administration and continued with 46. It was they best that could be done at the time because there werent enough surgical masks for the masses. 45s surgeon gen said n95 was the best but since none were available for the public a national push for cloth was done. Several companies prospered. Hell the GAP got in the business and last year made more money off masks than regular clothing. Why? Less material used.

So fine, cloth is no longer the answer…was never the answer. Just hate it went any CONgress person says i told you so. Nothing constructive comes out of it.

We have more important sh*t to worry about. Like this years taxes and the debacle about less returns becasue of the STIM.

    1. They called him a liar, brought his medical degree into question, censored him and he is the one being unkind? It is not an I told you so; it is a request for accountability and justice. If you think there are bigger problems than free speech being shut down and truth being called lies, you have your priorities out of whack.
