Acme Salisbury Chicken

With all the chicken houses all over the Eastern shore of Maryland Delaware and Va……not to mention all the processing plants. HOW is there a shortage of chicken here?   Remember when covid started the chicken plants were selling truck loads to local people.  I haven’t seen that in over a year.  What has happened?

  1. Because Perdue sells most of their product in DC, Baltimore & the bigger cities they do no care about the Eastern Shore Frank Perdue would be rolling over in his grave.

  2. and when the shelves are restocked by still limited the welfare people are buying it up before the working class can get to the stores

Folks need to understand that a lot of companies have put a vaccine mandate in place that has caused a lot of company drivers to abandon ship. Goods are not getting moved around. There are independent owner operators that are getting hired and paid a premium to haul last minute goods. But some companies won’t use the owners operators unless they show their papers. Also, with the ridiculous hours of service the drivers have to abide by, it takes much longer to get goods hauled to its destination. Got to love this socialist government.

  4. Acme in OC…same. havent been to Rehoboth Acme or Safeway yet. And yes, the mangled stuff that is on the shelves….oh hell no. Rather hit a HH and get some sysco trucked in food…..for now.

  5. Ummmm. hello? People do not want to work anymore? Especially in chicken plants? They don’t magically jump from the farm onto a truck and- voila!- get packaged and show up in your store. Perdue is offering up to $26 an hour STARTING PAY on their billboard outside the Accomac plant. I worked there for 10 years from the 80’s to the 90’s and they absolutely do care about the local community. Due to numerous factors they were losing money here while their complexes in other states were making money, yet they stayed , even though the smart business decision would have been to close here and move to one of the other locations. The Eastern Shore would be in a heap of trouble if they pulled out of here. What a bunch of ungrateful, whiny people you are.
