Berlin Cancels New Years Eve Celebration

Due to rising COVID-19 cases in the area and multiple vendor cancellations, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Berlin have decided to cancel the laser shows and ball drops on Main Street.

All town-sponsored events scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, December 31st, are canceled.

Although the town’s New Year’s Eve events are canceled, please consider supporting our local business community.

  1. Don’t you find it interesting how they’ll cancel this event, yet encourage everyone to go to indoor vents instead. Pizza TuGos has Trailer Park Romeo playing tonight.

    1. lol, are you really that uninformed?
and if they held it you would all be whining that it is a super spreader and they all should be fired.
I have to be on their side with this one.

  2. “Come get covid”? What does that mean? You get sick, it sucks for a while, you get better. If you are feeble and/or have a serious pre-existing health condition, you may have serious symptoms and you may even die . . . the other 99++ percent will recover, many with mild or no symptoms. So sorry democrats, you’ve already used this media-induced panic as an opportunity for mail-in/absentee/ballot-harvesting voting fraud.

  3. anyone who does attend knowingly takes a risk of getting ill (oh my) and would have no justification to blame anybody. it’s called personal responsibility. people who choose to live in fear are welcome to make there own decisions and stay home in their basements with their toilet paper and hand sanitizer, just as are people who refuse to live in fear are living their lives and will accept the consequences without blaming others.

    1. decisions have consequences, that unfortunately effect others. don’t come crying on there when you end up hospitalized and get sub-par treatment due to understaffing.

  4. Well maybe they believed Dan’s weather forecast of fog and dreary conditions. At 751pm Friday 12/31/21 it is soup on the island. Wonder how Rickie is doing preparing for another try at fireworks this year. Soupy Beerinhan. Hahahahahahah.

    Bottoms up!
