Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

SNOW HILL, MD. – On Friday, November 19th, 2021 at approximately 8:30PM
a call was received by Worcester Central for a Check the Welfare complaint in
the 4000-blk of Red House Road. The caller reported that a vehicle had been
parked on the side of the roadway for several hours and the rack on top was
without its kayak. As it was well after sunset, the caller was concerned about
the kayaker’s safety.

This resulted in a multi-agency response and search of the area that ended
with a negative result. Efforts to contact a family member at the home
address of the vehicle owner were also unsuccessful and the search was
suspended.

On Saturday morning efforts resumed and the kayaker was ultimately
located. His planned kayak adventure involved an overnight stay in a tent
that he had brought. He was in perfect health and returned safely without
incident.

This was an excellent example of a coordinated effort involving multiple
agencies which had a positive outcome.

    1. No, ridiculous waste of manpower and resources.
      Mind your business.
And if your the guy kayaking and camping, Be Prepared!
12-18 year old kids do it all the time. Use to be called Boy Scouts before the left ruined it.
