An English teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools — the largest school district in Maryland — told students to take a “white privilege test” before reading a book that addresses themes of racism and police brutality.
Ninth-grade English students at Sherwood High School were given pre-reading questions for the book “All American Boys” on Monday, Nov. 8, according to a file reviewed by the Daily Caller. The questions linked directly to a Vox article titled “what it means to be anti-racist” and a test called the “white privilege test.” The Vox article promoted the work of “anti-racist” scholar and author Ibram X. Kendi.
The “white privilege test” was adapted by “research on white privilege” from anti-racist activist Peggy McIntosh, according to the test. Students were told to answer “yes or no” to 25 statements.
Statements of white privilege include, “I can go shopping alone and be sure that I won’t be followed or harassed,” “In the history I have studied, my ancestors are given a lot of attention and credit,” and “I never feel out of place, outnumbered, unheard, feared, or hated in my clubs and activities. Instead, I feel tied in and welcomed,” among others.

I could NOT go shopping without being harassed by Blacks. I was NOT made to feel welcomed, I was always feared and hated until I moved from there. I was almost robbed several times on my way to work. My mother was robbed when she was a teen. My cousin was shot 6 times and almost killed all by blacks
My hubby lived there too and went to an almost all black school. He was beaten so bad he was hospitalized.
Have you been to Montgomery Co schools? Most whites are a minority there also. How the hell is that privilege???
This has the makings of very unscientific research, which I’ll bet hasn’t generated any informed consent paperwork for parents to sign. In other words, this isn’t teaching, it’s uninformed, uncontrolled experimentation with unknown psychological and sociological impacts on students.
This is the stuff of personal injury class action lawsuits for decades to come.
They should have a Minority Stereotype Test.
1) Is your father living in your house (full time?)?
2) Do any of your siblings collect “disability” because you can’t stop fighting in school?
3) Can you read?
4) Can you write a paragraph with correct grammar and punctuation?
5) Have any of your family members been to prison?
6) How many of your immediate family members have a criminal record?
7) Is your grandmother thirty years old or younger?
8) How many times have the police come to your house?
9) Do you use the metric system for weight measurements?
10) Can you multiply 6 x 5, add 6 to the answer and divide that by 2? Correctly??
White privilege??? All that means is working for what you have and not waiting for other people to GIVE you things, not having a lot of interaction with the police, not having children you can’t afford to support, and not blaming anyone and everyone around you for YOUR failures.
