Professor says grading system is racist, proposes labor-based system: ‘White language supremacy’

Labor-based grading would weigh papers based on how much ‘labor’ students put into their assignments

A professor at Arizona State University is calling for the end to “White supremacy language,” and to do away with the common way of grading papers in favor of labor-based grading that will redistribute “power.”

“White language supremacy in writing classrooms is due to the uneven and diverse linguistic legacies that everyone inherits, and the racialized white discourses that are used as standards, which give privilege to those students who embody those habits of white language already,” Asao Inoue, professor of rhetoric and composition at Arizona State University, said during an online discussion last Thursday, the College Fix reported.

Inoue added that White supremacy culture “makes up the culture and normal practices of our classrooms and disciplines.” To combat the issues, Inoue suggested implementing labor-based grading, which “redistributes power in ways that allow for more diverse habits of language to circulate.” He has also coined the phrase, “Habits of White Language,” used to describe the common way teachers and professors grade papers.

  1. And the next idea??

Those racist white people, who have been building bridges, roads and spacecraft, using that racist system of math, where two plus two ALWAYS equals four, have dominated the math curriculum going all the way back to the Aztecs and the Egyptians (who weren’t white, but still built complex building and astronomical structures, using that racist 2+2 BS).
Now, it’s time to not only revise how to write coherently, but make 2+2= 7.
Racism is so ugly that even TRUTH and SCIENCE are permeated with incorrect and harmful ideas.
How does one destroy a society?
By making it’s citizens dumber than rocks.
If you could see the employment applications that cross the desks of hiring managers today, you would travel to that school and slap the dogsh** out of that “professor”.
And you wouldn’t dare to drive across abridge that HIS students had ANYTHING to do with building.
Lastly, you could bet your house and all of your life savings that he’s a DEMOCRAT.

  2. Yeah, it’s tough for some students to grasp rudimentary college quality writing skills when high school hasn’t prepared them to do much more than write a page and a half book report. It’s even tougher for the kids who pass through the halls of inner cities’ versions of Ebonics High and Cityspeak Academy. Just scan the pages of popular magazines and local/regional newspapers to get an idea of the decay of “White supremacy language” sold to Americans.
Diversity, the alleged goal, should not encourage or advance the decay of communication skills, but, rather, fortify and expand them to maintain expressive integrity throughout generations and eras.

  3. They want to failing effort as well as successful results…

One of the stupidest things I have heard in quite a while!
