WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) today announced the award of $34,000 to the Wicomico County Government from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to help fund a marketing and advertising study aimed at attracting new tourism to the region to support the local small business community. The total study cost will run nearly $180,000, with the county and state funding the balance.
Congressman Harris issued the following statement:
“The greater Wicomico region is well situated to attract tourism and is friendly to the business community. This study, being funded in part by USDA dollars, will help bolster local efforts to attract new revenue, and I am pleased to announce this funding.”
All over the nation people are lured to tourist destinations by agriculture.
