A friend of mine told me a true apocryphal story. He is an old-fashioned “liberal” and a strong advocate of public education.
The Covid-19 lockdowns left him additional time to inconspicuously sit in on his sixth-grade son’s online classes. One afternoon, he observed an assignment in an English class in which all the white students were required to place their arms beside a brown paper bag.
The teacher, a white woman, asked if they noticed a difference in color between their skin and the brown paper bag. The white students verbally assented. The teacher then asked if the color of the bag looked close to the skin color of some classmates who identify as black.
The teacher then announced: “If your skin color is different from the color of the paper bag, then you are part of an American problem known as ‘systemic racism’ that does irreparable harm to all black and brown people. Further, if you identify as white, you enjoy something called ‘white privilege,’ which means you are practicing racism every day without knowing it.” The teacher then went on to ask the class if they had ever heard the term “reparations.”
Out of some sense of visceral paternal protection, my friend slammed down his son’s computer and told him to go to his room. He told me that he stood there, shaking with incredulity.
Teachers like that must be fired and criminally charged.

I think EVERY teacher and EVERY administrator in public education should be REQUIRED to do two things before working in the public schools:
1. Serve a 1 year term of enlistment in any of our armed forces
2. After their mandatory tour of duty, spend 1 year in the private sector, either as an independent contractor (1099) or in the private business community.
Not that I think there is ever a realistic chance for the above to occur, but I post this simply for consideration. As a 20 year + public education employee, I am very proud to serve my country and my community as a teacher. Despite my personal political affiliations, they never enter my classroom, and I have a perspective that has kept me grounded, humble and appreciative for all of these years.

Parents, pay attention to what your child is studying especially in English and history. .Teachers have a way of bringing in their views without their supervisors or principles knowledge. And if the principal or supervisor agree with them nothing will be said.
All this shit is indoctrinated at home or school. Remember your earliest school memories kids don’t care about skin color or know anything about race. We all played and got along then they start dividing us according to class and race and success potential and you find yourself upwardly mobile and your friends segregated and left behind. Even the white kids were judged many in high school with potential were channeled into vocational training because of their socioeconomic circumstances when they were perfectly able to keep up with the A listers from the right side of the tracks and the right homes the right clothes and the right Churches and social order. It’s idiotic for anyone to not believe that white people too have also been discriminated against by the social orders that be and an established pecking order that protect WHAT ? Their imagined Status and Power.
